Another unnecessary International break, the bread and butter of Celtic Football Club’s finances comes through our Supporters, and I’m pretty sure the vast majority of them have little or no interest in International Football. All these games are the results of greed from the authorities at FIFA and UEFA, their only interest in club football is the club’s ability to supply players for International Teams, they don’t give two hoots about the effect on player’s welfare, and they give even less thoughts to the supporters of the club’s who have to provide the players, and who pay their wages. UEFA are also quick to hand our fines as they see fit, like when the Celtic Support showed support for the Palestinian people suffering from genocide in Gaza and other areas, they claim to be non-political, was it not a political to allow Israeli teams to play in Europe. Was if not political to have a minute’s silence for Nelson Mandela, which I incidentally agreed with. But the point of the matter is, you can’t ride two horses with one ass.
It came as no surprise to read that the panel who looked at the tackle by Reo Hatate thought it should have been a red card, it also came as no surprise that the two incidents of elbowing by Kilmarnock players on Adam Idah and Kasper Schmeichel didn’t even warrant a referral to VAR, particularly the first one on Adam, which resulted in four minutes of added on time at the end of the first half, a time when we actually scored with a minute of that time left. Nothing has changed in the way Derek Mc Innes sets his team up to play against Celtic, he was a clogger as a player, and he tries to fill his team with cloggers now that he’s a manager. It was also typical of Mc Innes to have a dig at the Celtic Support claiming our behaviour was “Awful” I’ll tell what was “Awful” scenes of him singing obnoxious sectarian songs about being up to his knees in Fxxxxn Blood, maybe Derek should reflect on that, it’s no wonder the knuckle draggers want him as their next manager when Big Phil eventually gets the punt.
I believe we have had a very good start to the season, apart from a couple of exceptions. Obviously away to Dortmund was a disaster, it was a “Murphy’s Law” occasion, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Kilmarnock away was also a tricky fixture with the plastic pitch and the way they play. Falkirk gave us a tough match, but we overran them after an hour. Our goals for and against is as good as any I can remember, 31 for and 3 against is as good as any team, to be plus 28 after eleven games is phenomenal. Those kind of statistics don’t happen by chance, they come through have great players, and by hard work on the training ground. Out of eleven fixtures we have played six away from home, Aberdeen have had four away matches, as I’ve said before, I’m quite confident we will be about fifteen points ahead of Aberdeen, and at least sixteen points ahead of Sevco.
Glasgow’s still Green & White.
