Three games to go to complete another Treble. It’s our party, you cry if you want to.

Saturday at Celtic Park was a wonderful experience, there is no finer sight than the sun shining on the Green & White colours of the Famous Glasgow Celtic, and securing another victory for the Champions. Our Brothers from the East started by giving the Champions a “Guard of Honour” I’ve already said these things don’t matter to me, but when you see the team giving the respect looking like they actually mean it, then that’s acceptable. Who would want a “Guard of Honour” from Sevco, they don’t have any honour to give, and their obnoxious support certainly don’t have any honour. The amount of objects thrown at not only the Celtic Support, but at the Celtic Players as well, was embarrassing for their tainted club. I await the findings of the SPL and Police Scotland, since I stood and watched both Police and Stewards getting hit with missiles aimed for the Celtic Support, nothing was done, they never even attempted to weed out the culprits, no surprise there then.

Whatever Celtic win in football, they will win in an honest and fair manner, there will be no help offered or sought from the officials and authorities, that has never been the Celtic way since our very first game. We paid our own way for services supplied, we paid our taxes, anyone due payment from Celtic Football Club received their payment. We bailed out other clubs throughout the years, when Hampden needed money to upgrade, Celtic donated £10,000, and the SFA put a cover over the Rangers end, and left the Celtic Support to get soaked in the West of Scotland rain. I personally buy nothing at Hampden except my match ticket, I would encourage the Celtic Support to do likewise, we have been carrying this mob for decades. I believe I upset the Aberdeen Support by saying they didn’t deserve a 50/50 ticket split, and I’ll reiterate, they don’t. how many times have Aberdeen sold out Pittodrie in the last 40years? Rarely if any I believe, Celtic have 54,000 season ticket holders, which is more than the total capacity of Hampden, how many do Aberdeen have? Around 11,000, about 20% of the Celtic number, so each would be able to buy 2 tickets for the final, when three times that number of Celtic Supporters won’t have an opportunity to buy a ticket.

Back to Saturday, it was another good display by Celtic, and Hibs made a game of it as well, although Celtic scorned a few chances to score more, it was a good victory. The whole team played well again, and it was good to see Big Kasper back between the sticks, but you had to feel a bit of sympathy for Viljami Sinisalo who has looked good in the few games he played, it’s always a worry when your regular goalkeeper is injured, can the deputy step up, well Big Vil has shown he can. Nico was back to his best again, even with a shiner, Big Adam scored again, and should have scored more, but he needs games, hopefully he can continue to contribute in the last three games, another cup final winner could be on the cards for Adam. I would also like to see Johnny Kenny getting some more game time, we’ll never know how good he is if he doesn’t get a game.

It’s all about game and team management from now until the cup final, I’m pretty sure Brendan will want to protect some of the players on Wednesday night at Aberdeen, you would think they would want to do the same, but after having the day off yesterday, maybe they will go all guns blazing on Wednesday. We always want to win, so I will be going up there expecting whatever the line-up, the players will give 100% commitment, and we secure another victory. It will be a big day on Saturday against St Mirren, we always want to win, and the Saints are desperate to win as well, so it should be a good game. I don’t know what everyone’s plans are for after the game, I note that the Polis and Council think it should be Celtic who organise a party, there is plenty of moaning when it’s Celtic’s Party, the same people allowed a parade from Govan to George Square during a pandemic, the same Glasgow City Council and Police are happy for sectarian parades through Glasgow almost on a weekly basis during the summer months, but when the Celtic Support want to celebrate, it’s a red flag, or should that be a Red, white and blue fleg.
Glasgow’s still Green and White.
