I think we confirmed a few things yesterday at Tynecastle, although for my own part I didn’t need confirmation. First of all, Derek Mc Innes is an anti-football coach, his whole game plan against Celtic was to play the ball long, and to get as many set-piece opportunities as possible for his giant players to attack, and also to stop Celtic attacking at speed. I believe Hearts have scored 17 goals from set-pieces so far this season, I don’t like this comparison, but they are the Arsenal of Scottish Football. Mc Innes is a Horrible person who can’t hide his intense dislike of Celtic, that was clearly shown when we scored our first goal and he was caught mouthing at one of our coaches in our dugout, no yellow or red card for Mc Innes.
The two goals we conceded yesterday will surely annoy Martin O’Neill, two crosses to the back post, it was school boy defending from Celtic. Just who is our defensive coach? The amount of goals we have conceded from set-pieces is shocking, and should have been addressed long before now, I think we have matched Hearts record, I think we must have conceded 17 goals from set-pieces this season, which any team that wants to be successful cannot afford to do. What would we do now to have Martin’s original defence of Johan, Bobo, and Joos, proper defenders, and who could also be effective in the opposition box.
Another thing we got confirmed but didn’t need to was, Stephen Mc Lean and John Beaton are “BLATANT CHEATS” the red card for Auston Trusty was an example of that cheating, and Martin was right to call it out after the game, although I’m pretty sure the Head of Cheats in Scotland will find a way to agree with the decision. The way I understand the rule for the red card is that you had to have prevented a “Clear goal scoring opportunity” the Hearts attacker Kabore was about 35 yards from goal when Auston gave him a slight tug, he was also heading away from goal with two Celtic defenders closing in. maybe the most important fact is, Kabore didn’t have a shot on target in the 75 minutes that he had played, what makes Mc Lean and Beaton think he was suddenly going to turn into Ronaldo or Messi and score a worldy? Of course they didn’t believe that, it was just an opportunity to deny Celtic a victory. To put it bluntly, if you had bet your house on Kabore to score that chance, you would now be homeless.
It was always going to be a hard ask going to Tynecastle after a hard match in Bologna on Thursday night, when again we had to survive playing for an hour with ten players on the pitch, everyone was talking about how Hearts would miss Shankland and Devlin, no consideration to the fact that Celtic have played most of the season without CCV, AJ, and Jota, who is exactly the type of player we are missing most right now. Out team right now is crying out for reinforcements, I understand it’s not a simple task, but if we want to contest on three fronts, then it has to happen, even if we have to pay over valuations, it needs to be done this week.
We have a great opportunity to progress to the knock-out stages of the Europa League on Thursday night against FC Utrecht, we also still have a domestic double to play for. Falkirk come to Celtic Park on Sunday on a high with their recent results, then we visit Aberdeen on the Wednesday night. There is still very much to play for, and we need everyone to play their part, from the very top of the Club right down us the supporters. We have come from worse situations in the past, and we can certainly do it again. The task will be much harder because of the match officials, and because of the extra pressure put on by Clown’s like Mc Innes. We need to send a message to the people like that saying, “We are better than you, we have always been better than you, and always will be, nothing you can do to us can be any worse than you have already done to us and to our forbearers, because we are still here, and always will be here, we are not going anywhere, because we are Glasgow Celtic, the Greatest Team in the World”
Glasgow’s still Green & White.
