Decent start to the transfer window. Is the safety of our players and staff not the most important issue?

I think the official transfer window opens today, so the signing of Benjamin Nygren should be confirmed later, Benjy joins Ross Doohan, Kieran Tierney, and young Callum Osmand at the home of the Champions, the Famous Glasgow Celtic. I’m pretty sure there will be a few more players joining in the coming weeks, and for sure there will be a few leaving in the other direction. We all know what KT can bring to Celtic, the only doubt is how many games can he play while staying fit. The intensity of the football will definitely not be as high in Scotland as it is in the EPL, but there are different pressures at Celtic, like having to win every game, Kieran has only played in around 32% of games since he left for London, hopefully he can maintain his fitness back home, and play every week if selected.

Ross Doohan is a good replacement for Scott Bain, Ross knows the club inside out, he knows the demands, and where he stands in the pecking order of goalkeepers. Young Callum Osmand looks to be more of a project and one for the future, but we’ve seen players come like that in the past, and because they showed up really well at Lennextown, the became first team players right away. Benjamin Nygren looks like a really good player who should be ready to go from the onset, we have a decent history with Swedish players in the past, like big Johan Majallby, and a certain number seven in Henke Larsson, but players like Henrik are one-off’s we can’t expect the same impact from Benjy, but then again, you never know.

It was interesting to read that ourselves along with Aberdeen and Partick Thistle have been charges by the SPL for misconduct by our supporters, mostly involving the use of pyrotechnics at games, this is a situation that has been around for some time now, it is obviously mainly young supporters who get involved with pyro, I’m not a fan of them, but if we want to keep the young supporters coming to the game, we need to find a solution to it, they are the lifeblood of all our teams in Scotland, and probably more so with the teams in the lower divisions, any decisions and solutions needs to involve the young supporters, we can’t try to police our way out by arresting them, we have to have a National solution, with the young supporters of every professional club involved in the discussion, and the way forward.

The SPL/SFA seem to care about pyrotechnics more than the care about player safety, in their latest statements there were no mention of the amount of missiles thrown at Celtic Goalie Viljami Sinisalo during our last visit to Snake Mountain, Big Vil said that around forty objects were thrown at him during the match, there were far more that forty thrown at the Celtic Supporters, and all in full view of Glasgow’s finest and the Sevco stewards, I never seen one person being pulled out for the offence, but Maxwell and Doncaster are shouting the odds about the use of pyro. This is nothing new, ever since the reduction in ticket allocation, the throwing of missiles at the Celtic Support has increased massively, but the biggest concern of the authorities should be the amount of missiles being directed at Celtic Players and Staff. I await the announcement of the charges against Sevco and their horrible bigoted supporters.
Glasgow’s still Green & White.
