Are they coming yet? Sad news about Celtic Legend John Clark

The Scottish Sportswriters are in a bit of a pickle, they’re desperate to have banner headlines about all the massive signings Sevco have made, all who will be International stars, and all they have to show up until now is two free transfers from Dundee, and a possible loanee from Bournemouth as understudy to the serial loser Tavernier. I believe they think that the serial winners over at Celtic Park are worried about the massive cash injection from the yanks, as the undertaker says, “Remains to be seen”

This last week the Hacks have turned to an ex-player from Celtic and the Oldco. Steven Naismith, who jumped ship when the chips were down, was the go to guy, and over at Celtic, Packie Bonner, who is rarely seen at Celtic Park unless he’s working for Radio Clyde or some other two bob mob, I think Packie won nine trophies in nineteen years. Let’s look at Naismith, he got sacked by Hearts when he was bottom of the League, hardly Pep standard, I don’t think he ever gave Celtic credit for beating his team, it was always about bad goals to lose, never anything positive about Celtic.

Big Packie did his fair share of slagging Celtic as well, it’s all about who pays the wages, same with the sports writers, even the few who grew up supporting Celtic had to toe the party line, as I’ve said before, Celtic in crisis sell papers, Celtic winning trebles doesn’t. papers like the Daily Record and the Sun are most definitely anti-Celtic, as is Radio Clyde, so much so that the Greatest Football Manager in Scottish Football History, Jock Stein slaughtered them, and especially their main man at the time, Richard Park, who Big Jock called Ibrox Park, nothing has changed.

They would have you believe that the first class people who run Celtic should be running scared of the Newco. Celtic have dominated Scottish Football for decades now, creating records along the way, Celtic are a club who have always been run properly, even when the temptation was there to spend money we didn’t have, the long-term future of the club was more important than spending money you don’t have, the reason being that, you could end up in administration, and ultimately in liquidation, we refused to go down that route, and the fact is, Celtic are the only professional football team in Scotland to have played every season the top division.

One final point to make about us running scared of the financial injection over in Govan, Celtic are already cash rich, the club is in a better financial position than it ever has been in, and has been more consistently successful than it ever has been, I’m pretty sure the serial losers over in Govan would swap places with Celtic any day of the week, but that’s never going to happen. All we need to do is keep doing what we have been doing, keep evolving, and keep improving, Celtic are the benchmark now, let’s see if any team can challenge us.

Really sad news just in regarding the passing of Celtic Legend and Lisbon Lion John Clark. John was a fantastic player for Celtic, he also was second in command to Big Billy as Manager. John continued to be a very popular Ambassador for Celtic in later years, and was loved and respected by all who knew him or had the pleasure of meeting him. I was very lucky, I got to meet and speak to John at every home game, he was a brilliant Bhoy.
Requiescat in aeternum pace John. They never die who live in the hearts they leave behind.
Glasgow’s still Green & White.
