Almost there as Champions. No return to the criminalisation of our Supporters.

That was much more like it on Saturday at Celtic Park, it was a tremendous first half against Kilmarnock, and although it tailed off a bit in the second half, it was just good to get back to winning with a bit of style. Like all our supporters it would have been better to have confirmed ourselves as League Champions again, but we know it will come in the next week or so, although with our vastly superior goal difference, it would be almost impossible to lose the last five games by big margins, so it’s basically done and dusted.

We began the game on Saturday the way we should start every game, fast attacking football, with two three touches before moving forward at speed. We also saw two of the best goals of the season from Reo and CCV, both strikes were outstanding, and while it’s something we look for and expect from Reo, the strike by CCV was completely unexpected, the big man is a rock at the heart of our defence, but it was unusual to see him taking a shot from almost thirty yards, maybe we’ll see it a bit more often now.

The whole team played well against Killie, and only a fluke cross from Armstrong denied us a clean sheet. We had 88% possession in the game, and probably should actually score more goals with that amount of dominance, but as like against Hearts, Mc Innes decided to go for damage limitation and park the bus, you can’t blame him really with Celtic in that kind of form, and knowing it could come down to goal difference in the relegation fight.

I would hope now that it’s all but done, Brendan takes the opportunity to try out some other systems of playing, and gives some fringe players some game time. Teams are trying to frustrate us by stopping us playing the fast football that we like to play, they are denying us space and making us play along the back, sometimes we need to be brave and play passes in behind before they back off into two banks of five. I would have liked Adam Idah to have been given the full ninety minutes as well, we may well need Adam before the end of the season, so it would have been a benefit for him to go the distance.

We have three away games now, so it will be interesting to see what the SPL do with the remaining fixtures, obviously our last game is Trophy Day, and the last game of the season, so do we get the other home game first to clinch the title? then send us to Snake Mountain already Champions for a party. It all becomes a bit political now, it’s good that we don’t go back to Tynecastle, imagine going there to win the title with around 400 supporters. It looks like we will play Hibs and Saint Mirren at home, they could maybe send us to Tannadice first, we’ve won the League there before. We will know today or tomorrow.

No matter when we go to Snake Mountain, there can be no repeat of the scandalous police treatment of the Celtic Supporters before the last Derby game. These public servants cannot get away with applying the law the way they see fit, and every Celtic Supporter must make sure that doesn’t happen again. The Club also must make that point clear in the briefing for the match. Will the cops try to operate a section 60 again? Is that because of their total incompetence thus far in policing these game? We have already got rid of the obnoxious “Offensive Behaviour at Football Act” we won’t allow the police to still apply the same criminalisation of our supporters via “Section 60” we will fight that too.
Glasgow’s still Green & White.
