Very good display and victory last night against “The Sheep” although I don’t think we can call them that any more, or claim that they play their home games at “The Ewe Camp” I don’t think that any of their senior players come from the Aberdeen area. Back in the middle seventies until recently, Aberdeen was the “Oil Capital of the World” there would have been numerous opportunities to attract major investment from the oil companies and service providers, for whatever reason it never materialised, I think they had some support, but not what they should have had.
Back to last night, it was probably our best display so far, we played some really good fast passing football, especially in the first half, and without being too critical, there was a fifteen-minute spell in the second half when we let the Dons have a good phase of possession, but thankfully they didn’t manage to score during the period. There were good displays all over the pitch, I thought young Colby Donovan had a really good game again, as did Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, if we can keep him fit, he will be a very good player for us this season, especially with his experience of European Football.
The back five did their job without too many problems, the middle and front six were on fire at times. We have unearthed a cracking player in Camilo Duran, and Haissem Hassan looks like a top class player as well. My Man of the Match was Hyunjun Yang, I thought he was outstanding, his workrate was spot-on, he made great contributions all over the park, which in turn teaches the new additions to the squad what is expected of them at Celtic Park. It was 3-0 last night but could have been more, Camilo’s strike for the opener was unbelievable, I think we will see quite a few of those type of goals as the season progresses. It’s been an almost flawless start to the league season, four victories on the bounce, with eleven goals scored and two against.
We now have three away games in a row, starting off at Paisley on Saturday night against St Mirren, who have made a good start to the season, then it’s up the road to Perth on Wednesday night to play the other Saints, who have had an indifferent start in the league. Then it’s off across the city to Snake Mountain for the League Cup tie. As I said already Celtic have already written to the SPFL with regards to the laughable offer of 300 tickets for the Celtic Supporters, it would be my opinion, that if this is upheld by the SPFL, tell them to keep them, and also stress none of the Manky Mob with be getting any tickets for Celtic Park the following week. I think we really need to take a stand on this, I would also support Celtic withdrawing from the League Cup competition until proper rules for ticket allocations are agreed. The last two times we have played Sevco Police Scotland have failed miserably, so if they cannot protect Celtic Players, Staff, and Supporters, with around 8,000 in attendance, how are they going to protect 300?
These people are always trying to put us down and dominate us, and treat us like less than equal. I would remind them of this, there is nothing they can do to us that they have not already done, and they know full well, that we are still here, and we will always be here, they may have gone away, but that will never happen to us, why? Because, unlike them, we won’t let it happen.
