Thank God for the gift of Jamsie Forrest, it didn’t look like we were going to score on Saturday afternoon, and it would have been a travesty to lose to a St Mirren side who never actually came to win the game. Stephen Robinson always play’s in a style that makes them hard to beat, that also means there is a limited chance of them winning either. Robinson came to Celtic Park with an opportunity of qualifying for European Football next season, but he decided to play a 5-3-1-1 system, add to that the fact that Celtic were looking a bit flat and drained, and it could have worked out for the Saints but for Jamsie’s very late equaliser.
It’s so frustrating when teams come to Celtic Park with the clear intention of playing a deep defensive timewasting game. The Saints goalkeeper was warned twice in the first half by referee David Dickenson, and I use the term referee very loosely, but he continued until the very last minute to waste as much time as possible. They solved the problem in the EPL, referees were showing a yellow card to keepers early in the first half, which obviously meant if they continued they ran the risk of a second yellow, and so a red card. There are many faults in the game in Scotland, but for me time wasting is the most frustrating, it’s bad enough for us supporters, it must be infuriating for our player’s.
Now the League is over it’s just a case of preparing for the Cup Final on Saturday, as we seen against St Mirren, Reo Hatate will be a massive loss to us, and the fact that we lost him because of some talentless thug’s assault when a match was all but over is even more enraging. That was another example of how anti-Celtic officials like Steven Mc Lean are, there should be no place in top level refereeing for clowns like Mc Lean, who no doubt when his career is finally terminated will be found at the Bigotdome every second week. Mc Lean, Beaton, Dallas, Dickenson, Aitken, the list is quite extensive, all with one aim, stop Celtic at any cost.
We move from the football pitch to the offices of Glasgow City Council, and the anti-Celtic agenda continues. GCC were happy to agree for a sectarian parade to march through the city, but totally against the Celtic Support to have a joyful march into the city. We have to ask why this sectarian parade was sanctioned, it was claimed it was to celebrate VE Day, but VE Day was Thursday May 8th, so why not have the parade on the 10th when Celtic were at home to Hibs with a 3pm kick-off, it was clearly obvious the wanted the clash, but now they want to have a dig at Celtic Football Club. The march into Merchant City took place to celebrate winning the League, there will be an organised march on Saturday from Glasgow Green to Hampden, that’s it, two marches by the Celtic Support, but there are sectarian parades throughout the summer months, almost on a weekly basis, these parades seem to meet the criteria for Glasgow City Council. How much did it cost to clean up George Square in 2021?
Glasgow is most definitely still Green & White.
