Ticket Talk

CELTIC football Club has written to the club's main supporters’ organisations with a view to discussing the issues of travel and ticket allocation for away matches in Europe.

As a club, we recognise the allocation of tickets for away European games is, and always will be, a sensitive issue. Demand for tickets regularly outstrips supply and we have a whole range of supporters’ groups and customers to try and satisfy.

Celtic is a very different football club from others given the strength and breadth of our supporter base and the desire to support the team at every fixture regardless, whether home or away

Unfortunately we can rarely expect to receive enough tickets from European clubs to fulfil everyone’s needs and in most cases there will always be someone who is disappointed.

As a club we have to balance commercial needs and re-investment in the team, security requirements and various supporters’ groups’ requirements. We hope that by taking everyone’s views into account that any concerns are discussed and addressed.

Celtic’s Chief Executive Peter Lawwell commented: “Over recent years, I believe the club has enjoyed a very positive relationship with supporters’ organisations and we have established regular liaison with a number of groups on various issues.

“Clearly, ticket allocation, when demand normally outstrips demand is not just a difficult situation to resolve, but almost an impossible one.”

“However, the club looks forward to receiving feedback from the organisations concerned and to subsequent positive dialogue on this matter”.
