Good three points, but another referee disaster with Robertson.

Postby Joe O'Rourke » Mon Jan 30, 2023 12:14 pm

Another 3 points tucked away in the bag yesterday at Tannadice. Once again we found ourselves stuck in a traffic jam a couple of miles from Dundee, (not a shovel in sight) I sometimes think these roadworks ate scheduled to coincide with Celtic playing, the work on the Kingston Bridge must be going on for about 3 years now, with no sign of it ending anytime soon. I think the guy who made a fortune inventing the “Traffic Cone” missed a trick, they should be coloured Green & White, because everywhere we travel all over Scotland, that’s all we see.

Back to the football. It was the same old story United defended deep, and frustrated Celtic by niggling tackles and timewasting. I read a statistic last week that said Celtic had the lowest actual ball in play time in Europe, I think it was 50 minutes out of 90. So we are getting stiffed at all these grounds, and we are actually paying big money to see football for just over 50% of the match, the referees need to start applying the rules properly and punish consistent offending by timewasting.

And once again the dreaded VAR played its part. Don Robertson is another match official who seems to like denying Celtic decisions, but he is more than happy to award penalties at Snake Mountain though. The penalty he denied us for the assault on Kyogo was scandalous, the keeper punches the ball with his right hand, but deliberately clobbered Kyogo with his left elbow. When he eventually awarded the second one for deliberate handball by Kieran Freeman, he didn’t show him a second yellow, and then a red card, I wonder why.

I started to watch the highlights this morning on Sportscene, who had Neil McCann as one of their pundits. Now that got me thinking, I, like every other fair minded person abhorred the actions on Tory Big Wig Nadhin Zahawi. This scum bag tried to swindle the country he claims to love out of about 4 million pounds. So my next thought was, so did Neil McCann, only at a lower level of swindle, but wait a minute, so did Steven Thomson and Kris Boyd. And who were they working for when this swindle was perpetrated? Why of course, the Royal Family’s team, Glasgow Rangers. So these broadcasting companies were happy to bad mouth a proper socialist politician in Jeremy Corbyn, but also happy to employ crooks who tried to evade paying tax.

This VAR has become another vehicle to try to derail Celtic’s charge to another title. It is a good system being ruined by incompetents and cheats. The penalty eventually awarded was a stonewaller, so it tells you something about Don Robertson, he’s either totally incompetent, or a Blatant Cheat, I’m actually not quite sure which, but I’m leaning towards the latter. Apparently Saturday at Snake Mountain was another VAR and referee shambles, and who did they have in charge? Mr Controversy himself Willie Collum. I cannot comment, I refuse to watch that shower, but I know Collum’s record for them and us, enough said.

Finally, I thought yesterday, Callum McGregor had a magnificent game, he was as good as I’ve ever seen him, especially in the first half when we struggled a wee bit to get in behind United. I have to also say Jota and Aaron Mooy were outstanding, it makes you wonder how another team hadn’t tried to sign Aaron, but thankfully no team did.

Glasgow’s Green &White. We Never Stop
