A new initiative by Weatherseal and the SPL.

One of the SPLs major sponsors Weatherseal has come up with a new initiative to help those in Scottish society who are less fortunate than others.
They have decided to use their brand name to give five charities in Scotland the opportunity to raise awareness as well as funds.
Weatherseal / SPLs are launching the first charity weekend on 8-9 December.
The big change from previous events like this (Show Racism the Red Card and Football Against Hunger) is that we are letting supporters choose the charity.
There are five on the shortlist, which has been created by Weatherseal, the SPL, and of course the clubs who have all sanctioned it:
CHAS
Womens Aid
Shelter
Alzheimers Scotland (supporting the Football Memories project)
Samaritans
Each is designed to cover a different area and reflect projects that go on across the areas of the 12 SPL clubs as best as possible to ensure fair representation.
On the weekend itself Weatherseal will gift their SPL rights (advertising, digital perimeter boards, space in the Daily Record) to the chosen charity and they will also hold bucket collections at all six games with their own staff as volunteers.
You can vote for your preferred charity at ([URL="http://www.weatherseal-charity.co.uk"]www.weatherseal-charity.co.uk[/URL:5a25a00c]) - vote opens Monday 22 October.
I must say it is refreshing in these days of global recession to see a company like Weatherseal using their company brand for the benefit of those in society who need some help in life. Celtic Football Club was founded with the needs of others in mind; we would support anyone who follows that tradition, The Celtic Supporters Association is happy to endorse the initiative. We would like to congratulate Weatherseal, and wish them every success in this new very worthwhile venture, we hope this new initiative will lead to other major companies following the lead of Weatherseal, and using their substantial influence for the benefit of others.
