[COLOR=#000000:91391277]The next stage of the campaign against the new legislation for offensive behaviour at football takes the form of a public meeting this Saturday November 12th at 1pm.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]The venue is Whitehill Secondary School, 280 Onslow Drive Dennistoun G31 2QF. Entry is from Onslow Drive and there are parking facilities within in the school grounds. For anyone travelling by train the nearest station to Whitehill Secondary School is Duke Street and the school is easily reached from Duke St, Cumbernauld Road, and Alexandra Parade.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]There will be a couple of prominent speakers at the meeting; since it is a football free weekend a good turn-out is expected.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]It is very important to continue to oppose this attempt by Alex Salmond to criminalise the Celtic Support; his proposals were opposed by every MSP out with his own party in Parliament last week.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]In any normal democracy that type of opposition would force a re-think; but since King Alex got his majority at Holyrood he has become a Bully Boy Politician; giving no consideration to any views other than his own.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]So if he won’t change his direction by his own accord; then he will have to be persuaded to do so; and the way to do that is with as much public opinion against him as possible.[COLOR=#000000:91391277]Finally let me say; this is nothing to do with Party Politics; this is about a particular policy by the Scottish Government that could possibly criminalise a generation of Celtic supporters for doing nothing more than supporting their team and celebrating their history and culture.

Joe you are guilty of being naive/gullible if you believe the other political parties opposed the legislation, as it was they who proposed the changes back in August when the bill went through the parliament.
If you remember when the SNP said they would take stock of the concerns the other parties had for the sectarian bill and decided not to steam roller it through parliament and become 'Bully Boy Politicians'.
The only reason the other (Unionist)parties are now trying to distance themselves from this legislation is due to the outcry from all sides of the footballing spectrum and see it as a way of attacking the SNP.

I really dont know enough about the campaign but could you clarify what you mean in relation to ''thier history and culture''. this is where fans I know are confused.
At the weekend again there was songs in support of the ira, this is despite a request from peter lawell stating that these songs are embaressing the club, what is the supporters association doing about this. this is becoming a real divisive problem amongst fans.

The comment "plastic paddy" says an awful lot about the poster. Someone recently made the point that the term "plastic paddy" gets used quite a lot and yet if the person were to say "plastic paki" they'd probably be in bother, which seems to show that being anti Irish would appear to be quite acceptable here. Strange little cuntry really.
